Milky Way  Milky Way

To quote Catherine Failor, "No, you are not alone. There are many others out there just like you. People who have gazed longingly up at the night sky and wondered . . . . "Are there any intelligent craft molds in this wide, wide Universe for a humble, intelligent craftsperson such as myself?"

To quote Catherine Failor, "No, you are not alone. There are many others out there just like you. People who have gazed longingly up at the night sky and wondered . . . . "Are there any intelligent craft molds in this wide, wide Universe for a humble, intelligent craftsperson such as myself?"

Who is Catherine Failor? None other than the inspirational designer and creator of the following molds. We have used many of these molds over and over again, and are thrilled to be carrying this line. These molds stand the test of time and usage. We know that you will be as pleased with the design and construction of these molds as we are.

Each mold comes on a 9" x 9" sheet of clear PVC, a flexible and durable plastic. An instruction sheet, "Care and Feeding of Your Milky Way Molds", is included with each order. All weights are approximate.

These molds are suitable for use with: Soap, Bath Balms, Clay, Plaster, Wax, Foods such as chocolate, Jell-O, or, into whatever realm your imagination carries you.

Milky Way Molds are made of very flexible and durable PVC plastic which can withstand up to 140 degree F. as well as below freezing temperatures. The cavities themselves have also been designed to release the soap easily, so the molds won't have to be subjected to stressful acts of violence. Some soapmakers have used Milky Way molds every day for months, but in the end, the better they're treated, the longer they'll live!

CLEANING THE MOLDS: Rince with warm tap water and soap (if the molds have been used for soapmaking, simply soak in warm water for a half hour or so). Hot water, including dishwasher water, may warp the plastic. Don't let your molds sit in water, they may warp!!

POUR TEMPERATURES: The molds can tolerate wax and transparent soap temperatures of 135-145 degrees F. If you're concerned about warping, set the molds in a shallow cold-water bath for hot-temperature pours.

UNMOLDING: Please don't manhandle the molds when releasing contents! If you have any difficulties with soap or chocolate, place the molds in your freezer. For chocolate, a few minutes of freezer time will allow for easy unmolding. For soap, - 1 hour should be sufficient.
